About Emily

Emily is originally from Cincinnati and has lived in Charlotte for 17 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Psychology and her master’s degree from Xavier University in Counseling. As a licensed professional counselor Emily worked for Atrium Health providing therapeutic services to individuals and families with a variety of needs. In her counseling experience Emily recognized a significant need to support senior adults and their loved ones as they experience social, physical, and psychological changes from aging.

Emily earned her graduate certificate in Gerontology at UNC Charlotte and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She is theoretically oriented to the Person-Centered model, believing that empathy and genuineness are crucial to the counseling process. In addition, Emily uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy techniques to assist families in times of crisis when they need help resolving conflict and finding immediate solutions. Emily provides emotional support and advocacy for senior adults while striving to maintain human dignity and improve quality of life.

Emily is available to meet with you and your loved ones at your community residence or in the privacy of your home.

Telehealth Counseling

Phone and video conferencing is also available on a secure platform when in-person services are not convenient.
